Do you like to get a little mud on the tires? Since it’s not a good idea to off-road in your RV in Colorado, opt for a Jeep tour instead. Estes Park is known for an array of outdoor adventure activities, and if you want to see breathtaking Rocky Mountain views while getting your adrenaline pumping, we recommend checking out the area’s Jeep tours.

Head out on an adventure during the day, then come back to your “home away from home” at Estes Park Jellystone Park™. We aren’t just about camping with kids. We have many people who stay with us because of our location, amenities and outstanding customer service. We offer a variety of RV campsites and accommodate motorhomes up to 40 feet. Not an RVer? We have cabins and RV rentals that sleep 5 to 14 people.

We don’t work with a specific Jeep tour company, but we gathered up the best Jeep tours in Estes Park based on ratings by Google and Yelp. Regardless of the company you choose, you can count on spectacular mountain scenery and a memorable adventure.

Green Jeep Tours

Tours run all year and you start by picking a destination – choosing Rocky Mountain National Park or the Estes Park area. From there, you select from a host of tour options depending on your interests. For the Rocky Mountain National Park route, choose from tours geared to wildlife viewing, photography, waterfall hiking (which includes a 1-mile hike), and Grand Lake. If you go the Estes Park route, choose from rustic history, off-road or the Tasting Tour where you’ll visit breweries, a winery, distillery or dispensary.

The tour vehicles have removable sides and top so you can have a full panoramic view in good weather. Depending on the tour, it’s a 2 or 4 person minimum and families are welcome (except the Tasting Tour where you have to be at least 21.) They’re located at 157 Moraine Ave, just a 10-minute drive from our RV Park in Estes Park. Visit their website at www.greenjeeptour.com for details and to book.

Wildside 4×4 Tours

This company offers mild to wild photo tours that take you through Rocky Mountain National Park or Roosevelt National Forest. Tours are categorized as mild, medium or wild. The wild Rock’n Roller Coaster tour says, “You will be climbing steep hills, driving up a boulder field, floating out of your seat on water bars and sometimes we find a little liquid dirt along the way.” Some tours include a trip to their private watch tower where you have 360-degree views for over 150 miles. One tour includes an evening hot dog and marshmallow roast.

Most tours run May-October but they have winter options too. They have several different types of tour vehicles including one they designed and built themselves. Their website states, “We are also the only company within 100 miles that has the permit to offer on and off-road tours.”

They’re located at 212 East Elkhorn Avenue, about 10 minutes from our RV Park in Estes Park. Visit their website at www.wildside4x4.com for details and to book.

RV Park Facilities Available to You

After your Jeep tour, you may be ready to relax at our heated pool. Or you could try a round of mini-golf or horseshoes.

For your camping convenience, there are comfort stations, laundry, a dump station and picnic shelter. We also sell propane and have a store on site should you forget to pack a toothbrush or need coffee in the morning!

Need to stay connected or get some work done? We have WiFi too. (Remember though – the elevation and trees can affect signal strength.)
