Camping around the campfire in Estes Park ColoradoWhether you are coming to camp at Jellystone of Estes or you’re heading somewhere else, it’s important to be very familiar with the basic camping supplies that should accompany you on each and every camping trip you take. Below you can find the first half of our camping essentials list:

  1. First Aid Kit
This may seem like a no-brainer but often people who consider themselves experts on the outdoors often forget to pack this vital addition to their camping pack. Even something as simple as a small cut can get infected when you are out in nature, so always remember to bring your kit with you every time.
  2. Peanut Butter
Although it sounds a little silly, you have to be able to eat while you are out in the wilderness and peanut butter is the ideal food. Not only does it have a long shelf life but it also is versatile and contains plenty of protein.
  3. Headlamp
These are the most convenient ways to shed light on situations(no pun intended). Sure a lantern or a flashlight will work as well but having your hands free is a great help when you are cooking or using the restroom in the woods.
  4. Water
The last thing you want to happen is for you to get dehydrated and sick while you are on your adventure. Bring a camelbak or several bottles of water just in case.
  5. Rain Gear
It would be nice if you could guarantee that it would be warm and dry throughout your entire camping trip but the chances of that happening are slim to none. Make sure you make a raincoat and boots to ensure you aren’t miserable for a good chunk of your trip.
